The Orange County Department of Education is proud to introduce the Vietnamese American Experiences Model Curriculum (VAEMC) at conferences between 2024 and 2026. The VAEMC will assist educators in teaching about the histories, cultures, traditions and refugee experiences of Vietnamese Americans as part of Education Finance Bill AB 167. Stipends are available for teachers from contracteddistricts. At the conferences, K-12 educators will: 

• Learn about the VAEMC and companion resources 
• Connect with educators, scholars, community members, and culture bearers, as well as relevant cultural practices and ways of knowing 
• Participate in culturally immersive experiences in local communities
